Chef Goran Zekic was born in Yugoslavia. He is a 1990 graduate of the School of Civil Engineering, Sarajevo. In 1994 he traveled to Barcelona, Spain where he began his career in foodservice at El Escondite. From there his career took him to the restaurants of New York City where in 1998 he graduated from The French Culinary Institute, New York. Chef Zekic had the opportunity to hold many positions at many fine New York restaurants as The Yorkville Brewery and Tavern, Torre Di Pisa, Fresco and Spartina, including the position of Sous Chef at the acclaimed Le Café Crème Madison. In the fall of 1999 he moved to Cleveland, OH and quickly moved to the position as Executive Chef at Nighttown. Chef Zekic has been a Chef Instructor at ICASI and LPSC since 2004. He is fluent in English, Spanish and Serbo-Croatian languages.
